For someone who needs a complicated project management software with Gantt charts support etc is perfect, but for smaller project you can try, also for free (basic plan), projectino.com, what is more for online collaboration, personal project as well as for less complicated project in your company.

Very nice gantt charts! I’m curious at what the authors thoughts are on proofing software. Project management solutions are everywhere, but trying to find proofing software that integrates into your existing project production software is difficult. Have you heard of Approval Manager? I think it would be nice to have a review on that product as well.

I assume you’re probably getting sick of these requests now, but I was wondering if you’d like to review Apollo as well: http://www.apollohq.com

Apollo is a little different to the others. It does project and contact management, with an integrated calendar, timers, cases and deals… and it does it all in a snippy AJAX UI.

Maybe consider it in the future!

Very complete review, this is really good information for anyone on the dreaded search for a good online project management tool.

Natalie, we have a small office of 10 people and we use SantexQ to maange our projects. There’s a free basic account but it’s only 1 user, 1 project i guess to test things out. The unlimited version is only 10 bucks a month. it’s a pretty simple tool but a good choice for those who need straightforward task mangagement at an affordable price. good luck with your search!

Yep, Kris invested much time in this review, that’s for sure.
Liquid Planner was free, now it’s $35 per user. Significant difference, to say the least. The review reads really cool though. I’ve tried it, the tool is good, but I still keep checking other options. We have a team of 12 and we simply cannot afford paying $420 per month. Some of the options I’ve checked were mentioned above. I’m trialing Wrike and Basecamp right now. In my opinion, Wrike has more pm related features and looks more like what we were looking for. And it’s only $15 per month. ? Basecamp seems like a great collaboration system, but just not the thing we need at the moment.

I’ve had a look also and yes it seems that it is only a free 30 day trial now. I’ve had this article in my drafts folder for over 3 months so I guess it has changed since then which is quite disappointing as I know many people would have loved this free application. I’ve already had many thanks on Twitter for posting the article though, but how many signed up is a another question.

I can’t seem to find the free option on the website. Just the 30-day trial. In “pricing” it doesn’t say anything about “free”, unless you have a non-profit organization..
